Definitely just go to rottentomatoes. Like annihilator said, it's rare that I disagree with an overall consensus. Plus it will link you to all the movie critics out there.

I go with RottenTomatoes as well, although I do check out metacritic also.

fuck both IMDB and Netflix ratings.
Netflix had Brick as a 2.5/5. hence being the last movie i watched on that shit i'll give it a good solid "fuck you" rating for them. 5/10? please. movie was solid dialogue gold.

The way I use Netflix is not to look at the number of stars the title gets when you pull it up, but to look at the members' reviews. If I see a review written by someone I recognize who usually reviews films similarly to me, and especially if that person's overall ratings agree greater than 65% w my own, then it usually signifies that it's worth checking the film out. |

Also keep in mind the NetFlix crowd is probably the type to give Transformers 4 or 5 stars. Why the hate for imdb? Their rating are usually pretty good IMO

I find that the "Rate the last movie you watched" thread more helpful when it comes to movie selection over any site or "expert" opinion.
