We both got out of work early.

Gift exchange, which was just small thoughtful gifts...then a nice sushi dinner, even utilized happy hour.

Then she had to go to class and I had a meeting to attend to.

Havent been able to see each other much lately but yesterday was very nice time with each other.

Capital Grille was the **** last night. I got a 24oz Porterhouse, which was easily one of the best steaks I've ever eaten. She had a 10oz Filet, which I ended up finishing, and it was amazingly good as well. They even had a complimentary V day photo they took of us at our table, then gave to us in a frame after dinner, along with a rose for her. Casino was a good time too, actually won $100 playing slots, which almost covered our dinner haha.

I hear good things about that place. There is one here in KC. Some people get turned off because its a chain restaurant...but people seem to like it a lot.

They have like 10 locations or so, so I wouldn't call it a chain, like in the usual sense of the word when you think of restaurants. But either way, yeah, it's good as ****. It's everything you would expect when thinking of high end steakhouses, in terms of looks, atmosphere, and service. And while it's definitely on the pricey side, it's not as expensive as some other high end steakhouses I've eaten at like Ruth's Chris or Morton's or Shula's. And the food is better at Capital Grille, IMO. Last time I ate at Ruth's Chris was after a very good day in the poker room, as a treat to myself. All i got was a Sprite, a steak, and a side and my bill was $95 before the tip. And I was not impressed at all with the food. Last night at Capital Grille my girl and I shared an appetizer, shared a side, each got a steak, and shared a dessert and our bill was $125, and the food was amazing. I didn't think that was bad at all for the experience and quality of food.

We didn't do much because Jess put in the wrong day to request off (Tuesday instead of Thursday), so we are doing a special dinner probably this coming Tuesday. However I got her one of them Kreuig K-Cup coffee machines, and a cup to put her own mixes into. I just learned that if you ground them up, you can use loose leaf tea quite easily without weakening it! Guess I'm going to start using it too.

Those machines seem to be the "IT" thing these days. At work, everyone chipped in to buy one. I not a big coffee or tea drinker, but people seem to swear by it.

Hey Crown, I went to the web site for this place and looks real, real upscale, does my redneck a$$ need to wear a tie, bear dont like ties???? But I'm willing to wear one and drive 120 miles for a great dry aged 24oz medium rare steak.

Bear, no you don't need a tie. Business casual. I just wore a nicer looking sweater I got at Walmart for $12 for a graduation ceremony last year, and a pair of black dress pants with black dress shoes. As long as you're not in jeans and a tee shirt you'll be cool.

You can even pull off jeans if you wear a button down and some shoes.
