I would probably be huge fans of the Diaz brothers, with how talented they are, if they would just give it everything they have instead of trying to make sure everyone knows they are from "the streets." Every time I watch them I ask myself why I'm not a fan, then I hear them talk and I instantly remember.
You like my new sig?
137 Penn vs. Diaz approx 280,000 buys (127 Penn vs. Fitch did approx 260,000 buys)
144 Condit vs. Diaz approx 400,000 buys
It is worth noting that Condit vs. Diaz was a superbowl Saturday card. So when he faced Penn, he did 20k buy more than a Fitch fight that took place in Australia.
Again, I said Nick has the potential to be a draw. But he has had only two UFC bouts. It takes time to build up a fighter and two fights is hardly enough. GSP generally does between 700-800k buys. If this show does 800k or more, that can be contributed to Diaz. If it does 750k buys, Nick's presence won't have had too much of an impact. Regardless of the numbers, Nick should get a bump from facing GSP as this will be his biggest audience ever. Even his SF shows had smaller audiences than GSP's PPVs.
Painter assumes I am attacking Nick. But I am simply pointing out the numbers, nothing more.
