yeah, twas a good game. the announcers kept commenting on how it felt like a playoff game with how fast and intense it was. but beyond the "feel" this couldn't have looked more different compared to last year's series. low scoring, solid goaltending, relatively few penalties and no pp goals for either team. good start to the season for the good guys.

on a separate note, the kings must've had one hell of a hangover cause over 6 months later and they're still apparently suffering.

The play was sloppy, sloppy, sloppy. Still better than the Jets/Sens, though.
The struggle itself toward the heights is enough to fill a man's heart.

Pens first goal was on power play I'm almost positive.

If Bettman wants the Rangers in the Finals this year, it didn't get off to the best start

Pens lighting the lamp tonight. Lundqvist gone in the 2nd after letting 4 goals thru.

The Tanner Glass vs Aaron Ashum fight off the opening faceoff last night was a pretty good one. The fact that they were both on the ice to start the game to begin with says something too. Those guys basically replaced each other, get em.out there, let em go at it, and move on with the game. They fought for a solid 55-60 seconds, patted each other on the back of the head, and skated away.
