Just checked in and love this thread. Will be competing in my first meet in october so ill keep the updates coming.
Hit 95kg snatch for a double and 115kg clean for a double today, then some front squats up to 130x3
Yeah, you're green-lighted as fuck. But here's what's important: these lifts have to be done above 75% of capacity to 1) develop explosive power and 2) see where your weakpoints are and where/why they start to break down. A lot of people look pretty with 60 kgs on the bar; let's see what happens when you push yourself. Keep posting vids. You're off to a damn fine start.

No collar/clamp. Don't need it. If plates aren't fitting well or sliding or loaded to the ends of the bar I might throw one on, but I rarely use collars.
I'm just using this as my update thread. Today's work-out: 4 cycles of 7 close-grip chin-ups, 5 pull-ups, 6 dips, 15 push-ups, 5 hanging leg raises, 9 (don't know why the odd number) bodyweight squats, and 15 Australian pull-ups. 30 second rests b/w exercises and 5 minute rest b/w cycles.
By the 3rd cycle I felt like I had to swallow my throw-up b/c I haven't worked out like this in months but I pushed through the 4th cycle, toned down the squats and didn't finish the last set of Australian pull-ups b/c both bars were occupied by the end of my 4th.
I had to cut out a few body weight squats b/c it started to bother my knee but my hope is that if I continue this path, my flexibility will be greatly improved, as will my stabilizer muscles and core so when I decide to transition to Oly lifting in the future, I will have equilibrium rather than many imbalance that will hinder my progress.

Sound wisdom. Keep us posted.
I would like to debrief you all on my recent competition. Dallas last Saturday was packed. Over 80 lifters. A dozen or so national competitors. One 2x Olympian, 8x national champion, and national record holder in snatch - Chad Vaughn, who, at a body weight of 77 kilos, finished with attempts at a 140 kg snatch and a 170 kg clean and jerk. Quite impressive. I got a picture with him and it's incredible how small he really is. He's maybe 5' 7" and 170 lbs tops, yet he's snatching in the low 300s and clean and jerking around 370 or better. I believe his best snatch is 340 lbs or so. That's just dumb. And to top it all off, he's not even remotely competitive on an international level. Waters get deep, folks.
So, personally, I'm extremely happy with my own performance. I went 5-for-6 on the day, hit 1 kg competition PRs on both lifts, and finished with a 2 kg competition total. To already be this far along in May is very encouraging. I'll have pics and videos up soon. Here are my numbers:
