This might be the trump card that Alvarez' lawyers need to make Bellator back down.
The Fuel argument is beyond stupid as the UFC offer included on network bout on Fox and Bellator was trying to say it did not nec mean Big Fox, but the Fox corp. Bellator trying to argument that Fuel is a network would crash and burn as the term "network television" is almost universally recognized as being the big 4.

It almost feels like they have to do it though. At the very least they are trying to delay his debut as long as they can.

They have to challenge the UFC at some point to see if they can win or else they will lose any of their top fighters based on them adding a PPV clause here or a FOX network appearance there.

I can't really blame them but it sucks for Eddie and it sucks for the fans. As far as a stepping stone goes, they drew over a million viewers for their SpikeTV debut. Don't think for one minute that doesn't make them a big threat in the MMA market.

They are reaching for sure, I don't even feel like they think they will win this but Viacom has deep pockets.

dude is 12-2 in the last 5 years with wins over Aok and Pat Curran. He sent, who is actually a bit larger than Eddie, down to FW.

Is he one of the best? We won't know until he faces top guys. But he is exciting and always brings it. My guess is that if he goes to the UFC, he ends up at 145 at some point.
