Thread: My Top 10 NFL teams to win this years Superbowl.

Default My Top 10 NFL teams to win this years Superbowl.

My Top 10 NFL teams to win this years Superbowl.

    10. Pittsburg Steelers. Usually a top 5-6 team contender, I have them at 10 for one reason and one reason alone… Age. The last two seasons have shown that the talent level in Pitt is right up there with the best of the best, but truth is that the Steelers are older and each of the last two years they’ve slowed down a little bit than the year before, with Baltimore winning the division last year and the age showing up in the playoffs with Denver. This year…they are just even older and slower than before and there is a good deal of age in the Steel City. The talent level in Pitt still keeps them a contender and a playoff team, but I think this is the year we see the beginning of the decline compared to the tough, gritty, hard nosed AFC dominance they’ve shown in the last decade.

    9. Chicago Bears. Injuries to Cutler and Forte ruined their season last year, but this is still a loaded team of talent that won their division the year before, and was an injury to Cutler away from (possibly) beating Green Bay and heading to the Superbowl. Marshall is reunited with Cutler so that’s going to give the offense a boost, no doubt. The defense is still strong, with Peppers and Urlacher still having some good football left. The Bears are the type of team this year that has playoff talent and with one heck of a game, can win the NFC division and make the Superbowl.

    8. Baltimore Ravens. Much like with Pittsburg above, the talent level on the defensive side of the ball is top notch, but aging. Reed, Lewis.. are aging stars that aren’t what they were four years ago. Losing Suggs is a major, major blow. Offensively, the Ravens are still a team that looks to have all the key pieces, (QB, RB, T, WR) but when you’re facing off with the Patriots, the Texans and other high powered offenses, you need the firepower to match. The Ravens just don’t seem to have it from the past few seasons, but the talent is there to BE a force.

    7. Houston Texans. The injury to Schaub was the death nail for their playoff hopes last year. Well he’s back this year, and as long as he, Andre and Arian can stay healthy, this team has the offensive weapons to match anyone else. The defense was strong last year, and coming on strong with youth on that side of the ball, but how much of a factor will losing Super Mario be for the Texans? He’s the talent that could be the “break” part of the season, instead of “make”.

    6. Denver Broncos. 8-8 last year, knocked off Pitt in the playoffs, so they upgraded from Tim Tebow to Payton Manning in the offseason in the biggest free agent signing since the Packers got Reggie White in 93. The defense is still there that was dominant last year, with a full training camp to use this year. Manning has shown that he’s a “10 win QB” by himself in Indy, and he’s got a crushing running attack, solid O line, the best defense he’s ever had, and some young, hungry, studs WR’s to throw too in the Mile High City. IF Manning is even just 80% the QB he was pre-surgery, the Broncos are a playoff team. Manning fully healed… they have the talent with him to be a winner.

    5. New York Giants. It’s hard, almost impossible, to duplicate SuperBowl wins, and the departures from the Giants are all substantial. The power back to co-exist with Bradshaw is gone, Mario Manningham is gone too. The defense will have to carry the load this year like they’ve done, but the NFC East is the most brutal division in the NFL with the Giants, Eagles and Cowboys all beating each other senseless all year, but the Giants have 2 Bowl wins recently, so you can’t count them out.

    4. San Fransisco 49’ers. 13-3 last year, the best defense in the NFL intact, Gore still running the ball and a multitude of offensive weapons added. Crabtree and Davis are solid (and really good in Davis’s case), but adding Manningham and Moss to the team could be just what takes them over the top this year and puts Alex Smith on a superbowl winning team, just as the hope was when he was the #1 draft pick. If the gel is there, the talent in the Bay is arguably second to none… IF the gel is there. (ahem, Mr. Moss…)

    3. Philadelphia Eagles. On paper, the Eagles may be the most talented team in all of the NFL at key positions. QB, HB, WR, DE, CB, there is so much talent on this team it’s scary. Oh wait.. we said that last year too, didn’t we? The difference is now these guys have an entire offseason to use, and if how this team came along at the end of the season is anything to notice, the Eagles could just be the best team in the NFC, and the NFL.

    2. New England Patriots. The offense is just a well oiled machine you already know in June that it’s going to be doing what it always does… effectively dominate. It’s the defense that was questionable last year, and they spent the draft and offseason working on this. If the defense is improved.. the Patriots are almost a lock to represent the AFC in the Superbowl.

    1. Green Bay Packers. Won SB two years ago, were hands down the best team in the NFL last year, and have the same team pretty much intact still. There’s not too much age on this team, and there’s maturity, a full offseason, and healthy guys. Like them or not, the Packers have been the best team in the NFL for two years now, and are probably the best team still today in the NFL. Much like the Pats, if their defense can improve to match that offense, the Packers have the talent to put up 14-15 wins.
07/07/10.. Brock Lesnar will beat any HW he faces in the next 3 years and will retire with only one loss on his record. (was wrong about this, for sure!)

Jon Jones is the most talented d*ck tucking b*tch in UFC history! Just fight Rashad already if you're not scared like you say you are.

    Nice list.

It'll give ROV plenty to hibbity jibbity about, but oh well.

The Pats had a scary good draft, I think they would be my number one because Brady is on fire at this stage of his career and will probably be playing with a chip on his shoulder after losing the superbowl to baby Manning, again.

Nothing to "hibbity jibbity about" from my end. Other than his top two which I agree with most of that list is garbage. It would be nice if he actually paid attention to this off season before trumping up a list, but thats what you expect from the OP. For example...Denver returns their defense from last year? Would you like to try that one again?

Eh...since I know this was pretty much designed to get a reaction form me I'll just leave off before /rant mode hits.

Nice list. However I think the "departures" from the Giants is a little bit off. Manningham was thier 3rd receiver. All people are really thinking about is his super bowl catch. Take that away, he was a sub par receiver last year prone to drop a lot of balls.

jacobs is a cry baby. Who was upset to be splitting carries and quit multiple times during the year. I think he isa physical freak, but I am not too concerned about his loss.

Philly isn't as good as people think, well their talent isn't as good as people think. Rodgers-Cromartie is ok not great, losing samuel is pretty big. Also their defense is retarded, the wide 9 or whatever the **** they call that gimmick bull**** will not work consistently against teams that aren't completely stupid. They added Ryans which will help, but if all it takes is a pulling guard to create a 6 foot hole in the line with no help from the defensive ends due to them running themselves out of every play is not how you build a solid defense.

I'll take Denver of course. People are only talking about Manning, but they upgraded the hell out of their secondary. With the pass rush they have it's not going to be easy to get open as quickly as needed against Denver. Plus if you do you can get burnt by the corners jumping routes. It might take Denver a year to gel as needed, but this team is no joke.
