Borderlands 2 will be getting a fifth character class -- the Mechromancer -- after launch as free DLC, as well as cosmetic character customization features and a special edition release, Gearbox Software confirmed during its PAX East panel. The bonus class will only be free to those who pre-order game, though it will also be sold as premium DLC.
The Mechromancer is a cyborg who is capable of calling her robot D374-TP companion -- [rip]trap -- to the battlefield, presumably as her Action Skill. You'll be able to customize her look, and those of the other four classes, using gear, costume pieces, and alternate heads unlocked from completing missions.
Then there's the Borderlands 2 special editioin release, which will ship in a scaled-down loot box from the game. Not one of those crappy silver ones either; we're talking a proper maroon-colored loot box. It will include a Marcus bobblehead along with a copy of the game, though that's all that Gearbox had to reveal on the content front. I wouldn't be surprised if a few in-game items are thrown in as well.
