holy **** spain has to be one of the most dominant teams in sports period. they seem to stumble every now and then but those are just blemishes when compared to their consistency. hopefully by 2014 brazil's next generation will be able to present a real challenge for them, or argentina. idk how much longer italy's old guard can keep playing at this pace, this kind of seemed like their last hurrah. i'm sure germany will always be a top 3 contender by having one of the most competitive leagues and whatnot. england and france both seem to be in transitional phases. they have quality prospects that need to mature more, but i don't see any serious developments happening in the next 2 years. if anything the old guard of england will go for one last run before moving aside for the prospects, unless of course they turn into superstars within that period. on the other hand, france seems like they're more willing to try out the younger guys but the whole team needs to grow together after their last fiasco with Nasri. idk what to say about the netherlands, i expected them to at least make the quarter finals with ease. their team still seems solid for the next cup but who knows how they'll do after this upset. portugal will still have ronaldo and if they were able to draw to penalties with spain, then who knows what they'll be able to do come two years.
