I know a lot of people use Engineer in conjunction with BlackHats, but I found Engineer+EMP grnades to be far more effective, IMO. I use that with my run-n-gun classes. Makes it fun to find a sniper on a perch, EMp nuke all of his betties/shocks, and then go in and knife 'em.

Agreed. I have now changed to just have one loadout that has a black hat. Just in case there is a stranded care package somewhere out of reach. But the rest, if they have any equipment, have EMP grenadesOriginally Posted by conk2000
I use them more for the points. You get a little snipers nest with a buch of crap like betties, shocks, tac inserts etc. You can get a lot of points towards your streak with one nade. Also a great way to take out Sentry Guns and Guardians

I've actually taken the Blackhat out a bunch of my classes too. Went to load my game up a few minutes ago and it said that it was having problems loading my stats and reset all my load-outs and reverted me two classes back to level 52. So, I had to create the load-outs again, tweaked a few things. FAL class is no more, can't use it after the update. Changed my LMG class to have the KSG as a second weapon and also has a shock charge along with the Betty. My R870 class has the M181A or whatever the 4 round burst AR is.
I like the Boom Stick class, from close range, I've gotten pretty good with the 870 (even got a 1 shot, 2 kills earlier) so I use that anytime I'm inside or in close. Once I start to go out in the open, I switch to my burst fire and take anybody out at range plus it really f*cks with people, they see you shoot a burst, they chase you around the corner and get a face full of BOOM STICK! I also added Shock charges and a Betty to that class b/c if I want to hold down an area, I booby trap it, even if I don't get the BB kill or the shock charge, it alerts you that your equipment has been hacked or destroyed and so they get to come in looking down the business end of my shotgun. Love it when a plan works...
Still can't find a good gameplan on some levels. Express is one, Drone I'm horible at, Turbine is another (sometimes I can hold down the long walkway on the side of the map if it is somewaht busy), and I'm hit and miss on Slums. I usually rape face on Raid and the night level.

This is the first COD where that is actually ****ing true. Nothing like getting shot by people who never appear on your screen until well after you are dead or getting shot 5 or 6 steps after turning a corner.

I don't know why I'm so freaking mad at this game sometimes. On MW 3, my k/d was 1.25ish at the absolute highest point. I've been playing this and have gotten up to 1.63 but I am now settling around 1.5-1.55 range. That really effin' good for me though.
I guess it is the games that I will have to fight tooth and nail to go even or even go negative. There are some lobbies where I swear my gun doesn't fire actual bullets but those bean bags. I know he lag comp is worse by far in this game and the camping isn't quite as bad as MW 3 so I don't get my rage issues.
I think I am just super duper competitive and I can't stand losing EVER...

A: Something that will keep those things from killing you?
B: Besides the Swarm, has something that can kill it? Whether it's a Chopper, Escort Drone....or even a Gunship or Loadstar while we're at it
I can see dying once. You're in whatever loadout you're in. But you should have one loadout you can then switch to, that won't allow the guy on the other team that put that thing up to rack up a GIGANTIC streak of kills, against a flock of retards, too stupid to protect themselves or fight back. Every time one of those fuckers go up in the air, I find myself to be the ONLY person trying to do anything about it. Many times these are Team Death Matches, where every kill is super important. And people just let themselves get cut down by these automated murder machines over and over and over and over

I don't have classes with a launcher or FMJ but most of them have Blindeye. I pretty much only play this one with friends and I have 3 friends who are always in constant competition to shoot stuff down. Plus since we only play TDM and SnD we don't see a ton of high level killstreaks. Hell I just saw dogs for the first time Friday night.

After playing this for a while, I'm over it. It just didnt have the flare that MW 3 did for me. I was playing with all my buddies, killing it and everybody was having a blast. Now, every single person thinks this game is "meh" so nobody ever gets on and plays it with a big group. It is t a game I enjoy by myself, it was pretty unremarkable.
I'm trading it in and Hitman to get Dead Space 3. Got a buddy that will co op story mode with me... Just couldnt get into this game as much...
