Default WTF Gonzaga out, Peewee in vs Big Country at 146

and the revolving door continues to rotate

Maybe the third time will be the charm for Roy Nelson at UFC 146.

Originally set to face Antonio ‘Bigfoot’ Silva on the card in May, Nelson lost that opponent when main event fighter Alistair Overeem was pulled from the show and reshuffling had to take place.

In his place, Gabriel Gonzaga stepped in to face Nelson. Well now Gonzaga is also out due to injury so in steps former Sengoku fighter Dave Herman who faces Nelson at UFC 146.

UFC officials announced the switch on Tuesday night.

Dave Herman steps into the bout on just over 3 weeks notice and looks to get back on track after suffering a loss to Stefan Struve in his last bout in the Octagon.

Herman won in his initial fight in the UFC defeating Jon Olav Einemo, but came up short in his second bout.

Now Herman steps in to face former Ultimate Fighter Roy Nelson in a bout that could have ‘Fight of the Night’ or ‘Knockout of the Night’ written all over it.
Nelson EASILY by TKO i think.

before the Struve fight i would've agreed but to see Herman get dropped by the guy famous for being folded like a chair against anyone who can strike, i see Roy taking this with ease.

TKO 1st or early 2nd round.

Man, that sucks. This card is (unfortunately) nowhere near as awesome as it could have been.

The musical chairs curse has set in. Gotta go with Roy on this one, big time.

I got Nelson too, but I do think it's a pretty tough matchup for him. Sucks, I was really looking forward to Gonzaga/Nelson.

there was a poll that sadly can't get resurrected because of the forum dropoff.

it was from about 3 and half maybe 4 years ago about who are the "next upcoming HW's" with 8 options.

    you could pick 2 options.

mine were Peewee and Carwin(who led the vote by over 70%).

one thing i remember distinctly is JDS had like 4% of the 100+ poster vote when i looked back at it after the Crocop fight.

regardless Country and Rothwell were also options and i obviously would LOVE to see Herman knock him the **** out but at this point i just don't see it happening.

edit: kudos to the first douchebag that claims to remember that random poll thread and claim to be part of the 4%.

    no you weren't.

    shut up.

this was when the Werdum uppercut was a fluke.

Yeah, this one shouldn't be too difficult for Roy. Should be a nice win for Nelson to re-establish himself after the loss to Werdum.

****, I would have rather them sent in Travis Browne on short notice, but this will due. This should get fat boy back into the "win" column.
