Is the dude done? He doesn't look the same at the plate.

He'll probably snap out of it but now 70 ABs in he is looking pretty average.

What's your prediction for end of the season stats?

    I'll say .290, 28 HRs and 95 RBIs.

I don't know if he is done, but his best years are clearly behind him. That's why I am not at all sad he is no longer a cardinal. Such a long-term contract made no sense.

Thats a lie, you are sad he is no longer a cardinal. Because if his best years are behind him, he is still going to hit like OC stated which would make him a great addition to ANY team. For as long as the angels are hoping? Prob not.

I dont know whats up with him. Havent really seen too many dudes hit a wall like this. Other then guys that stopped juicing.

The fact that the Cardinals didn't spend that ridiculous amount of money on Albert means that they were able to sign Yadi, and they also have money left in the budget for other players. Not only has Albert seemingly trailed off offensively, but even if here were to turn it around this year, there is no way he would be worth that amount of money and a 10-year commitment. The Cardinals are better off without him, as much as it pains me to type those words. The only way a 10-year commitment makes sense is to an AL team, because it's inevitable that he will spend a lot of time as a DH. No way will he be an everyday 1B for 10 years.

But, you were sad to see him go. All Cards fans were. If you werent, then you have no loyalty to a guy who got you some good hardware.

I appreciate what he did for the team. He is without a doubt one of the all-time greatest to wear the birds on the bat. The way the whole thing happened, however, left a bad taste in the mouth of most Cards fans. The fact that he went to the highest bidder after making a big deal about how he was not in it for the money...the fact he doesn't care about getting his WS ring or going to the White House with the rest of the team...
It is not we as fans who exhibit lack of loyalty. It is Albert.

That said, for the past 10 years, I was proud to have him here in St. Louis. I wish his departure had not happened, but it was ultimately for the best. He got the $ he obviously desired, and the Cards freed themselves of a long term commitment that would not have ended well.

He will be fine, you guys are crazy. It's only April. If he's still hitting like this in June, then there's a problem

How are we crazy? This is the worst slump of his career, it doesnt matter what the month is. He swing looks off as well. I dont think this is simply something people should poo poo of since its "only April", especially when your throwing tons of money at the guy.

Mark Texeira has had his share of pitiful aprils...Pujols is hitting 225. A couple of solid games and all will be forgotten...Just like the Red Sox and Bobby V. Bobby V had to worry about his job and now the Sox are on a big winning streak...You don't just go from the best player in baseball to finished over the course of 1 month at 32 years old

He was too comfy in STL. This year he goes .275, next year right back over .300.
