Hell no. I think he could get that with some team, but that is incredibly overpaid. Plus no way management would make him the highest paid player on the Canucks. Gillis has a pay structure that he has stuck very closely with, asking players to take a little discount in order to be on a top team in the league.

I still hope that they can somehow get him at a reasonable price, but have given up hope on that. Time to move on.


Season will be locked out it seems. They have until September 15th to reach an agreement. Like that will happen.

Comparing that to NHL Players, Bettman ranks 5th highest behind Ovechkin, Malkin, Crosby, and Staal.
