One thing that makes your team getting knocked out early bearable is when that other team continues to do well. The Kings look like they could go to the SCF right now. And Washington is looking just as solid, if not more so, than they did in the 1st round.
Probably nothing has done so much harm to the liberal cause as the wooden insistence of some liberals on certain rules of thumb, above all the principle of laissez faire.

The sports media needs to STFU about Ovechkin's ice time.
Torres is appealing the length of his suspension. I loved how long the suspension was because it's the only way a message will get sent. Having said that, I completely back Torres for appealing it and feel like he should win. I don't think the league can justify 25 games when they gave Weber nothing, and they gave Keith 5 games for a hit that in my opinion was a lot worse. At least Torres' hit was in the realm of a hockey play.
I get he received 25 because he keeps doing this stuff...But with how unbelievably inconsistent Shanahan is this 25 just seems like a random number. He needs to start handing out that length to everyone targeting the head. See: NFL.

He would never admit it, but let's say Shanahan realized that he went too easy on Keith after the fact. At what point is he allowed to start doing the right thing and laying the hammer down properly after that?
You say he shouldn't hit Torres with 25, even though it's the right thing to do, because he went too easy on Keith.....well what kind of argument is that really? Two wrongs don't make a right
Too me, you should compartmentalize the two incidents. If you feel he ****ed up on one, fine. But if the right call was made on the other, then the decision he made prior shouldn't factor in. He made the right call on Torres
Now, if someone AFTER this Torres suspension goes and does the same thing, while also having a rap sheet as long as his (try finding someone like that by the way) and Shanahan DOESN'T hit them with a similar punishment? Then I think he deserves criticism and the two incidents should be compared.
Also, Keith's rap sheet is dwarfed by Torres'. You may think Keith's hit was worse, but how much worse was it, really? Was it enough so to nullify the fact that he's not a repeat offender. I know he had that bad hit mentioned before, but he hasn't been warned, fined and suspended multiple time like Torres? So, to me the answer is a resounding no
Keith maybe could have gotten it a little worse, like somewhere between 8-12 and I bet even Shanahan wishes he could go back and change that one, but he deserved no where's near what Torres got and Torres FULLY deserved those 25 games
