The problem with Melo is he doesn't play hard enough in the regular season, that's why he doesn't have success in the playoffs. Very few teams win a playoff series without home court and giving away games in the regular season because of effort costs you playoff seeding and home court.
Home court in Playoff basketball is a lot bigger than people realize. It's not hard to win a game on the road, but it's hard as hell to win all 3 home games after winning one on the road, you have no room for error.
