I think it's a good move for the Yankees...Hopefully Pineda isn't overwhelmed pitching in NY and can fill in that #2 spot in the rotation..

I think it's a great trade for the Yanks. Montero might turn out to be a superstar, but the Yankees don't feel he's a full time catcher. He's either a DH or 1B and he ain't replacing Tex. The Yanks need the DH spot free to give A-Rod and Jeter a rest in the field. And as far as catchers go, they have Martin, Romine and Gary Sanchez down in the minors.

Wow - excellent move by the Yankees. Pineda looks like a beast and they have other catching prospects.

Yankees also signed Hiroki Kuroda to a one year deal setting up a rotation of CC/Pineda/Nova/Kuroda/ and either Hughes/Burnett/Garcia ....I would imagine with this signing the Yankees will finally try to dump Burnett's contract, Hughes will fill the 5th spot, and Garcia will be the long man
