Memphis finally got it going during the end of last season and were impressive as **** in the playoffs.

Between not losing anybody significant in the offseason, a healthy Rudy Gay, and what they might end up with in the inevitable trade involving OJ Mayo...

Yes, it may seem bold to state but the Grizzlies are going to own this year.

losing Battier is pretty big, leadership and with Tony Allen they always had a above average defender for wing players. Gay is good on offense, but below average on defense.
Supporting Zuffa....the only promotion spending money to further the sport.

I am more worried about the Grizzlies lack of big men. Arthur was their best bench big man during their run, and he is already out for the season. Depending on two big men with questionable conditioning in a compressed season could be asking for trouble. However, Gay gives them a legit go to threat on the perimeter and he should make it much harder to double team Z-Bo.

I also think the Nuggets are going to end up a top four seed in the regular season, but they are going to lose in the first or second round of the playoffs, unless they make a trade.

Well that sucks. I knew the preseason was going to be real short but playing the same team twice...bleh. Lame. Ah well...

Spurs had Duncan and Parker going this time (they sat out Sat's game against my Rockets) and led the Spurs to a 97-95 win. Rockets improved on their turnover problem (only had 16) but the 44% shooting from the field and 28% from 3pt range is terrible. I think the first part of this shortened season is going to see some really bad basketball around the league...because guys are going to be getting into sync a lot later without much preseason to get all their sets and whatnot down. Probably going to see a lot more injuries too.

Just to revisit what I already said..with Battier the Heat are going to win it all. And out of all the teams out there who are legit contenders I think the Bulls did the least to advance from where they were last year. No real additions (and Rip is not a real addition these days..sorry) from last year and I get the sense that we are going to see a lot of Rose chucking the ball up near 30 times a game again instead of being a point guard. Out West the Mavs went backwards by losing Chandler, the Thunder will always be a question mark because of the ball hog syndrome of a certain PG who thinks he is more valuable than Durant, and the Grizzlies..I don't know...just don't see them getting over the hump against the real squads over 7 games. Lakers are older, under a less talented coach, and are brittle. Clippers definitely upgraded with Paul but I don't think that team has the depth needed to dig real deep in the playoffs.

So yah...going to be a Heat coronation this year. And it sucks...because you won't find a bigger LeChoke hater than me. But the saving grace in all this is that LeChoke will still go down as a guy who couldn't do it on his own star power..so in my mind anyways he'll always be ranked beneath the true greats of the game. So suck it LeChoke....friggin quitter.

i 100% disagree that A. the Heat are going to win it all and B. the Clippers don't have the depth to make it deep in the playoffs.

having Bledsoe, Foye, Gomes, Mo and Reggie Evans coming off the bench is pretty nasty.

So the Heat go to the Finals and realistically could of won it last year except for LeChoke deciding not to play anymore...and now add Battier who has made every team he is on better...but cannot win it all?

And the Clippers have added Paul which will make them tougher all the way around as he is flat out the best PG in the league...but let's be real - the same Clippers team last year weren't very good or very deep. What you view as nasty is more just average. Take their lineup and stack it up next to the Mavs lineup and tell me how deep the Clippers are...
