Wow - this is very tough to watch. I love me anything USA but this is like watching a low level kids game. Any decent men's high school soccer team would destroy the US Woman's team and FIFA ranks them #1? The USA just lost to Sweden and now gets Brazil in the round of 8.

The lack of skill in female sports is funny. This is why this **** is never on TV and no one gives a **** about it. A bunch of ugly lesbians with zero skill. The US keeper seems kind of hot though..

First of all, the skill level is very high. You have no ****ing idea what you're talking about. This isn't the WNBA, the best female soccer teams in the world play high level soccer, period. Sure, it's not on par with the men's game, but that's to be expected. I won't further address your insults, you were clearly just being an *******.



The U.S. lost to Sweden on a couple of fluke goals, it will only serve to invigorate the team for the Brazil game. Brazil's defense is suspect, and the U.S. will not allow Marta and Co. to play their game. I think the U.S. gets the win, 2-0.


I've been watching a lot of this tournament. Has anyone else around here been watching? There's been some pretty sick goals, much better finishing than you typically see out of the women's sides.

What??? Sweden owned us. I watched the entire game. We had no chance in that game whatsoever, beyond the fluke tap over the head in the 1st half where we could have scored. I suppose you can't see past our flag to realize this isnt 1999, FIFA is corrupt and we are NOT the #1 team.

Its not an insult to say that low level of skill is not on par with an average high school mens team. Its a ****ing FACT. The "skill" they have is because they are playing other totally inferior (female) athletes. They are slow, physically limited and lack explosive ability. A group of wheelchair basketball players are "skilled" in comparison to each other but that isn't reflective of overall skill.

The best female players in the world don't play high level anything. Get over it.

Sweden didn't "own" us; that first goal came off an unnecessary penalty, and the second was a complete fluke. Our goal was legit, and we had several good chances that barely missed... and what the **** do you mean, see past our flag? Really? I strike you as the "USA USA!" kind of person? Please...

Don't speak in absolutes when you don't know what you're talking about, man. It's not "a fact" that women cannot compete with a men's high school team. Can the U.S. under 20 club whoop up on the U.S. women's team? Sure, absolutely. Can your local high school do the same? No, dick, they can't.

I'm not pulling the sexism card, there's a reason they separate male and female athletics. Hell, we even separate men and women in POOL for ****'s sake. OBVIOUSLY there's a significant gap between high level men's and women's athletics. But calling the women's soccer team a bunch of ugly lesbians who can't play high school level soccer is some ignorant, juvenile bull****, man. You're being a jackass, on purpose, and it's insulting to those of us who are actually enjoying the tournament.

I will watch them play Brazil along with you and their families. About 50 of us will actually watch. I am a total USA! USA! fan and enjoy soccer, but this has been pathetic, IMO. I am positive my high school soccer team of 1989 would beat this team and beat them easy. Why wouldnt we? Bigger, faster, stronger. Please...spare me that a group of women can ever compete with even average men. The US under 20 mens team would beat that team so bad it wouldn't be funny. Probably 15-0. It would be near impossible for the women to ever score on average skilled men. I can't even believe you are arguing that - the women would be inferior at every position - slower, weaker, less technical, etc. Also, an average mens high school basketball team would ****ing murder a WNBA team and an average 145 pound MMA fighter would beat the **** out of Cyborg. Just by luck i happen to have been home to see all three of the games th U.S. has played. While I agree that a good high school team could play with them it's irrelevant, they aren't playing men. The question is how would a girls high school team do against them?..probably not very good. In all three games noticed that their left back..the chick with the hair cut like Waumbachs..has cost them alot. Today it was very clear..but even in the first two games it was noticeable. The Rodriguez chick is fast as lightning..and Hope Solo has some weird sexy quality that can't put my finger on..but i definatly want to **** her while she wears only those gloves.

Yeah, agree about the defense. I believe you are talking about Lebebleit and she hasn't played well. Something about Hope Solo is sexy.

I think the only way we beat Brazil is by scoring 3 or more goals and somehow playing better d. I'm not holding my breath.

You made it sound like you were referring to all female soccer players, not just the U.S. team. I'm fine with your critique of our #1 ranking, I'm not delusional about our prospects in the tournament either, I just stop short of, and take issue with, calling our team (or all female soccer players) ugly lesbians... it's just poor taste.

Moving along....

I think Brazil's back line is pretty weak, and I think we will have several chances to get a goal off of a set piece as well. Clearly our defense is a serious problem, but I actually think it will match up better against Brazil than many are expecting. We struggle with pure speed, and I think Brazil's strength is on the ball, not darting down the field in full sprint (just my observation, could be flat wrong). I don't know if the U.S. can win the tournament, my gut says Germany takes it, but I think we still have some noise to make.

Oh, and yeah, Hope Solo is sexy as hell. I think there's some sexy girls on Germany too.
