Big Black Keys fan. But, I don't think he's anywhere NEAR ever being considered a guitar god. Really don't think he's anything special on the guitar, actually.

But I do dig their raw, delta-bluesy style. I think, in a way, they're kinda keeping the blues alive with the younger generation.

Having said that, I know their new album, "Brothers," has been really well received among the music community, but god DAMN. I do not like it at all. I've given it a few complete listen-throughs and just cannot get into it. I think it's way overproduced. It's not at all what first attracted me to the Black Keys. Clearly I'm missing something. How do you other Black Keys fans feel about their new album? Anyone else feel like I do?

Not to thread-jack... Haha. Sorry, errbin.

REALLY!!! brothers is great not the best but I got "keep it hid" rolling in there too

I always listen to albums in the backround not the main focus
and soon I started singing "The Only One" and jamming to "Black Mud"
plus "too afraid to love you" creeps up and jams

edit:
"Ten Cent Pistol" is ****ing great

I'll be seeing them Oct. 10 at Cain's in Tulsa - one of my favorite venues. It's a ways off, but I'm STOKED. Baph, if you read this, are you going to that show?

I actually saw OMA from the UG at Cain's at an Arctic Monkeys show a couple months back. Pretty funny. Wasn't expecting that at all. Dude is like 5'5". He's nuts. Was running around like a child and bouncing off those black, stretchy aisle divider things like they were the ropes of a wrestling ring and taking faux clothes-lines from his buddy, lol. Dude is a character.

recent Black Keys convert. Slept on them for a long time, and now I've been listening to nothing but for over a month

I do too

I picked up Attack & Release when it first came out due to the song
"Strange Times" and kind of forgot about it in my CD changer (yea I still have one)

one day sat down home alone punch random on the changer and
the black keys cranked out

I hit repeat 2 more time before going to Best Buy and buying all of their
album plus Dan Auerbach solo stuff

solid band I want to see them LIVE

LOL guitar god. Drunk posting?

errbin has shown he knows little about guitar players with his hatred for Joe Satriani, who by the way is a guitar god.

funny...I found a band I avoided (thought they were just some commercial band) through a show I also avoided, ie SoA, as "Hard Row" was used in the pilot of SoA

I like this **** a lot.

If you're into "hard blues"...don't neglect to look up the older stuff, especially Ten Years After who have some really good hard blues tracks.
