I've got a big draft coming up in a few weeks in my keeper league.
I kept A-Rod, Adam Dunn, Scott Kazmir, Joba Chamberlain and Mariano Rivera.

I've done alot of research and for each position I've targeted 3 guys I'd like. One higher rounds guy, one middle rounds guy and a late rounds guy. That way I can adjust as the draft goes on and I won't have to scramble if "my guy" gets taken.

Here are the guys I've targeted at each but I'd like some feedback on who would be more valueable, who I can wait on, who I should snag right away and any other tips ya'll want to share.

(Keep in mind that this is a keeper league and not everyone is available at every position. And it's a standard 5x5, Head to Head, 12-Team League.)

C- I'd like Posada if he's available. He's my top choice. My middle choices are Iannetta and Wieters. And my back end guy is Jeff Clement.

1- I'd LOVE to get Chris Davis. He's the highest priority to my draft. But my middle round guy is Jason Giambi and my late rounds guy is Mike Jacobs.

2- I'm shooting hard for Cano. Though Howie Kendrick and Jose Lopez are two guys I'd target farther down in the draft.

3- I've got A-Rod already and if I get Davis then I'm set cause he is 3B eligible too, but another back up would be Carlos Guillen or Ian Stewart in the middle rounds. And Kevin Kouzmanoff in the late rounds. Any Padres fans high on Kouz?

SS- Obviously I'd like Jeter since I'm a Bomber but Tulowitzki seems more logical cause Jete' always goes too high. My back end choice is Khalil Greene though. I feel like he might explode a little bit in St. Louis.

OF- I've already got Adam Dunn but I'm looking hard at drafting Bobby Abreu with my first pick if he's there. I have 4th pick overall and I think Bob will drop that far. I'm also targeting Johnny Damon, Jay Bruce and Hideki Matsui pretty hard. With Fred Lewis from San Fran, Nelson Cruz from Texas and Jeff Francoeur as back ups if I miss out on the others.

SP- I've got Kazmir and Joba locked in and I'm in LOVE with Max Scherzer and Aaron Harang going into this year. Gotta have both of them. Other guys I'd love are Gil Meche, Brett Myers and Ricky Nolasco in the middle rounds. With Ian Snell, Erik Bedard, Andy Pettitte and Scott Downs as my later rounds guys. And what do ya'll think of the value Chris Carpenter and John Smoltz will have?

RP- I've got my boy Mo already locked down and I'm seriously in love with the idea of starting 3 closers this year. And I'd like the other 2 to be either Jonathan Broxton, Frank Fransisco or Joey Devine. I'm banking on getting 2 out of those 3 mugs.

Thanks in advance for your opinions.

i think you are making a few huge mistakes if you are playing to win...

1) i know your a yankees fan but you do not want too many players from one team

2) you are drafting all players that you like ... it will be tougher for you to cut these players or make trades....

3) your pitching staff is way too risky.....

i dont see this team as a title contender

^ Trust me I'm trying to find that happy medium ha but I'm not just going straight numbers here. I want to enjoy watching the guys who are playing on my team.

I'm not going to get all the Yankees on my team but those are just my top picks at each position. I'm expecting to have 3 or 4 Yanks on my team as far as hitters go.

Why is the pitching suspect? If Scherzer puts together a full year as young as he is and if Harang bounces back, that'll give me 4 Top 20 starters right out the gate. Now I just have to count on come combination of Meche, Myers, Pettitte, Bedard and Nolasco to pick up the back end.
