After the road trip the Lakers just had (61pts vs NY, and beat Lebron and the Celts on their home court), I would put Kobe above Lebron for MVP... but long season and could go either way

Rookie of the year is easily Derrick Rose (although he was injured, Oden is still a 2nd year player not a rookie)

Yeah for some reason I forgot about Rose, good call.

Oden is a 2nd year player, but I think he is eligible for the award since he played 0 minutes his rookie year.

Kobe's team is way better overall then LeBron's, so what LeBron is doing is more MVP worthy IMO. Hell the only guy not named LeBron that would get minutes on the Lakers is Mo Williams.

Eric Gordon's been coming on strong.

It's too bad everyone sleeps on him cause he's a clipper.

I am.

If you think I am being a homer then please name anybody that is more improved than Nene or has had a bigger impact on a team than Billups. Kenyon has been the best defensive player this year, winning games with steals in the final minutes multiple times and shutting down the other team's best player in the final minutes reguardless of position.

People can sleep on the Nuggets all they want, but nobody wants anything to do with playing them in the playoffs outside of the Lakers. That includes teams like the Hornets and Spurs. Hell the Spurs are so worried about the Nuggets that they sat Parker and Duncan the last time they played to make sure the Nuggets couldn't gain any confidence in beating them.

Alot of rookies are playing better than Rose right now. Mayo, Westbrook, Lopez, Gordon...Rose seems tired, and he has a horrible coach, but regardless it's about how they play all year, so Rose running away with the award is far from a foregone conclusion. He'll probably be the best player from this awesome draft, but right now, he's not.

srdafish, what about Wade? On any other year, he'd be the MVP. The only guy as important to his teams success as Wade is LeBron. Bilups has been great, but the Nuggets have a far better team than the Heat. For them to be where they are in the standings is remarkable.

I agree that Nêne is a candidate, but he has stiff competition from Harris, Granger, Millsap and Nelson. I don't understand your Aldridge pick though. He's virtually the same player, and he's actually playing a little worse.

Odom sucks as a sixth man. He's a great player, but he's not suited for the role at all. This would've been Terry's award for sure had he not gotten injured.

My picks right now would be:
COY: Stan Van Gundy
ROY: OJ Mayo
6th man: Terry
DPOY: Howard
MIP: Granger or Harris

I guess you can add Danny Granger to the most improved list, although I don't think going from almost 20 ppg to 25 is that great of an improvement.
