Since I'm on here A LOT, and not on any other sites nearly as often. I have chosen to use this site, and this thread in particular to track my fitness gains and losses.
Tomorrow (12/22/08) I'll be weighing myself first thing in the morning, and getting my body fat checked in the evening.
My MMA gym is closed for two weeks, but I went to 24 hour fitness this morning and got in a good work out.

I ate like crap last night, and woke up too late to weigh in this morning.
Still planning on hittign the gym tonight, and getting my body fat checked.
I'm sore as hell from lifting yesterday. My chest is on fire and my triceps feel all swollen.

30.9% body fat and 290.8 pounds.
My weight was after working out tonight, I'll check it again in the morning and see if there's a difference.
They said the body fat was correct +-3%. I plan on getting it checked about once a month to get a good since of how I'm doing. I'm going to be under 240 and under 15% before you even realize it.

The update is I haven't been to the gym in several days and I'm sick.
I plan on going tomorrow, but we'll have to see how I feel.
I also found some awesome solo grappling drills I can do here at home.

Didn't get the workout I hoped for, but still burned a lot of calories.
Couldn't go earlier when I planned to because their daycare was closed. Went tonight with my wife. Burned over 300 calories on the eliptical and over 200 on the treadmill, plus did some upperbody lifting and ab work.

Just got back from the gym this morning.
Burned over 500 calories on machines. Killed my upper back and my tris are swollen and sore as hell.
Be hitting it again tomorrow morning.

Hit the gym this morning with my nephew in tow. Over 500 calories on machines and an hour or so of lifting.
Did 4X10 on the assisted dip machine. I can't touch the back of my head my tris are so swollen and sore.
Letting the diet slip today because of the holiday, but I'm back on it tomorrow.

I was all ready to go to MMA class last night, then I got a text saying the gym was still closed:(
Don't know what I'll do workout wise this weekend, but I'm looking forward to class on Monday!

Oh, I also have a scheduled appointment at the gym on 1/10 to get my bodyfat checked.
I'll post pictures and all stats in the FC6 thread on Saturday teh 10th.

MMA class was hard as hell last night!
I think my time in the gym over the last two weeks helped me make it through it though.
I quickly re-realized that cardio on the eliptical is NOT the same as cardio in class. But I'm sure it helped. I made it through the warm ups only sitting out one exercise due to fatigue. Sat out crab walks because my shoulders can't do that, but did jumping jacks the whole time.
Ate like crap last night. Del Taco and a small coke :(

Yeah I thought I had good cardio too because I did about an hour a day on the elliptical. Conditioning class was another story. I felt like I was back in boot camp on that first day. I've got my elliptical up for sale now.
They don't have any Subways in Yucaipa? I have three within 2 miles of my apt. Fuckers are everywhere. It's not ideal but its better than Del Taco.

She's actually very supportive, and stears me clear of those sorts of choices most the time. This was just one of her weak moments, and I gladly followed along (just like a lamb to slaughter)

It would be nice to have someone supportive to help with food prep/cooking. Shit eats up too much of my time and theres not enough variety.

2 quick things:
First, I played Wii last night instead of just sitting and watching TV. We're talking what? And extra 100 calories burned? Fuck it, that's 100 more!
Second, I took the stairs up to work again today. I told myself yesterday I would take the stairs everyday. Today my back is hurting. (low back problems like 99.9% of fat people) But I still marched up all three flights to the fourth floor.
That's all.

Been to several doctors for my back. They always diagnose it as muscle spasms.
Chiropractor helps, but losing the weight will do the trick.

Just got back from a health fair thing put on by my work.
They got my BF at like 31%, so that's right where I thought.
The scary numbers were my blood pressure at 158/101 and my cholesterol at 248
Those are both way higher than I've ever seen them before.

Did the horrible thing last night and this morning of saying "I take pictures Saturday, so I can eat and drink all this crap right now."
Long story short it's done. It was a flat tire, I'm back on track. Have a healthy lunch planned, and decently healthy snacks at my desk.
Today starts the FC, tomorrow I make my official weigh in, get my body fat checked agai(this'll be the official one I use for the FC), and take and post my pics.

Got my body fat done today. It was 30.8%
Here are the caliper measurements:
Bicep: 11.3
Tricep: 18.2
subscapula: 42.0
suprailiac: 37.8

I came way to close to passing out during MMA class last night.
Once from a triangle, and the other from exhaustion.
I had to go 7 1/2 minutes straight with a fresh man every 90 seconds. I survived, but spent the next few minutes floating back and forth between almost blacking out and almost puking.
A few minutes after that I was back in to take my turn as one of the new fresh guys.
After all that I still stayed for the next class! That's when I almost got put out by the triangle.

I'm sore as hell!
The inside of my legs and my butt muscles hurt so bad it's hard to walk. But I still took the stairs this morning.
Put in a shopping list with the wife today for good foods/snacks.
Ate out last night at Sizzler. Could have been a LOT worse. Doing pretty good overall.

Elliptical = aerobic. BJJ/MMA = anaerobic. Two different things.
Try anaerobic conditioning. Burpees are your best friend and worst enemy.

Hit beginner MMA class last night. Sparred some wrestling takedowns, but becides that it was pretty chill. Made sure to stretch REAL good before and I feel great today.
Tonight's class is in Beaumont. It's a combined class with the Rialto school and the Beaumont school. Going to fucking kill me!!!! But I'm kinda looking forward to it.
Diet is being hard as hell to get in check. I just ate fucking cookies. This weekend we'll be getting a bunch of healthy shit. So that'll be somethingn to eat/snack on that I won't regret.

IE, all side bets aside, when I feel that I may be slipping into a "bad diet" period, I just stock up on the whole wheat pastas, chicken, tuna, spinach, etc... I buy a shit load and it basically forces me to eat that. So far I have only had to do that 2 times in the past year.... oh yeah, nice sig..

Head hurts from Manimal kicking me and busting my eyebrow open, but the weekends diet wasn't too bad, and I got in a hell of a workout last night.
I need to "do stuff" on my off days. Even if it's just 20 minutes of conditioning similar to MMA warmups (running, jumping jacks, pushups, crunches, sprawls). I'm going to try and incorporate this into my routine just before my shower at night.

if you take your showers right before bed you may not want to do too much working out before. It'lll make sleep harder.
