I will go one further, and this certainly depends on how bad the damage is, if pos Cote/Silva should headline the TUF finale.
They would likely draw over four million for the title fight, thus giving Silva the oppertunity to build his rep even more.
If not, then do exactly what MMA Rated suggested: Put this on Spike.

That would work if Cote can heal up fast, but I don't see that happening. My guess is he is out until early 2009 at least.

I agree that they should fight on an UFN or Tuf finale but it really depends on how bad Cote is hurt and how long he is going to be out for.
Next fight I hope they set up is him and Liddell for the NYE show. Maybe he will be motivated for that fight.

That was my guess I think he ends up like Karo. Just gets booted from the title mix unless he can come back and get another couple good wins.

I don't know about that, he could get the next shot at silva if Silva goes back up to 205 for a fight or 2.

This certainly is one possibility.
The indestructible champ vs a guy with a 4-5 UFC record. I will take a pass on this one, just like I did Saturday night. I try real hard to stay positive when I'm posting on this board, but I'm really struggling with this one.
The fights of interest for Anderson are at LHW. The retirement talk and Saturday's "antics" that I am hearing about make it pretty clear....Anderson is bored.
Dana, Wake-up, you have the most phenomenal fighter in the world under contract , put him in the cage with one of your 205lb super stars....now.

I just don't want to be Silva's next opponent. He has always gotten some boos every fight with his 90 second footwork at the start of fights. He always had the stunning victory that brought cheers. Now, with a freak injury, he leaves to boos and has to answer insulting questions from the press. Hopefully he learned a lesson.

Rematch? really...
Seriously, I don't blame Cote for pullin lame,
for now on pushin the fight past the 3rd will be his claim to fame.

I'd be down for a Fight night style rematch. Why not?
I was un-fulfilled with the outcome of that match - and I think Anderson is probably going to want this rematch too so he can shut everybody up about his antics.
it's like the Burns/Johnson fight, or Tito/ken 2 - or any questionable stoppage - Nobody likes unanswered questions.

Where was Cote's awesome striking skills and KO power vs Almeida?
Now that's an un answered question, homie..
But, wait he fucked Anderson up, right.
Get the fucc outta here..

Won't cote likely have a medical suspension?
Also if silva only has five fight left until he retires, I can think of atleast 5 guys I'd rather see him against.

I said that to my boy. Everyone suddenly talking about Cote like he's Sugar Ray Leonard.
Same dude who went the distance with a Jiu-Jitsu master who's not exactly world class on his feet.

I got a better solution... f*ck Cote and move up Alves to 185.
Thiago Alves vs Anderson Silva @ 185 , IMO, would be a HUGE fight.

why would they give him the hardest fight of his career after a severe injury and reconstructive surgery that does not make sense i see the UFC give cote a warm up fight if not two before they throw him at Anderson again.

Johnson had to have surgery after that fight and they are havin a rematch so your question will be answered

That would be a good solution and do huge rating numbers...that being said I don't think the logistics will work out for it to be possible.

Patrick Cote vs. Dan Henderson with the winner getting a rematch with Anderson Silva. That would be cool!

Horrible idea.
This rematch should never happen, especially not on a UFN. Anderson will be taking naps in between rounds. Doing cart wheels and shit.
Anderson needs to move to 205 and stay there for a while. Cote needs to disappear.

IF Silva really wants to retire after this contract and assuming he goes undefeated for the rest of his fights, he will most certainly want to fight Cote because Cote will be the only UFC fight he did not legitimately win. A fighter like Silva will have too much pride to allow a 1/2 blemish on his record like Cote.

cote is out 6-8 months.

He only beat Koscheck?
Wins over:
Matt Hughes
Karo Parisyan
Chris Lytle
They don't amount to anything? He's on a 7 fight winning streak.

Cote won't be back until summer 2009.
He'll need a tune up fight, or two.
Silva vs Cote 2 wouldn't happen until Fall 2009 or Winter 2009.
IF it should ever happen.
